And why are women and young girls still being fed the same outdated literature? I mean, Pride and Prejudice? I think every woman in my college batch hated that, other than one sole appreciator. It sounded so sad, I never read it! It has no sense! Then, Wuthering Heights? So, there are two boring people stuck in a past infatuation, refuse to enjoy the moment, die, then are happy as ghosts in their death walking with eachother. I mean, who cares about some dumb romance like this in this day and age? And it’s introduced to girls in school. Why? So, that they keep fantasising about men instead of going after their talents? Uh. It’s not the 19th century anymore! Hello! And of course, Jane Eyre. What is that? There’s a mad woman in the attic who destroys everyone’s lives? These girls are in school! Why is the model for normal womanly behaviour being fed to them as crazy people? Men aren’t given models like this? Why are the women? And they’ve written so much in defence of that one crazy psychopathic whatever. Seriously, insanity is insanity. It’s not to be defended. It is certainly not to be set as a model for young girls to emulate! Kids learn by emulation! Stop feeding young minds degenerate models of female aptitude and competence! Give them Ursula Le Guin, for crying out loud! Stop spreading the patriarchal notion of women to the coming generations and let them think instead.
