Note to George W. Bush –
The lack of safety for citizens in India knows no bounds. On September 29, 2018, Koramangala, Karnataka, Bangalore, India, I was faced with a man who was masturbating in the open opposite Krishna Premier Badminton Arena. This incident took place while the man was standing in front of the gates of the houses opposite the neighborhood badminton arena. People in the houses could leave or come out of their buildings at any point of time and face such debasement at the hands of a maniac who has stationed himself outside their homes. This was an act perpetrated in broad daylight. What if the children in the houses see this, or face far worse? Are the residents of these houses aware of this man outside their homes? They must inform the police to ensure the safety of the women and children of who live in there, and in the surrounding neighborhood. This is not the only time that this man has been spotted. I spotted him once two weeks before the prior mentioned date. It was at night. He had committed the same act at the same location. He hides between the vehicles parked in front of the houses on the street. He is a repeat sexual offender. To add to this, we have repeated harassment in the dead of night in a quiet neighborhood like Koramangala in the form of loud shouting, harassing comments and loud bikes driving by. The area has been rendered entirely unlivable by these repeated acts of harassment and sexual predation.
When will this pattern of the sexual exploitation of women and children stop in India? Bangalore, which is reportedly the safest city in the country, is plagued by an over-abundance of sexual predation. One can only imagine the scenario in other cities. It must be exponentially higher elsewhere.
Respected Mr. President, do children and women in India not deserve safety, respect and protection by the law? If the situation is so extreme, then is it not necessary to put the matter in check immediately? How many more lives must be injured and ruined at the cost of criminal minds, respected Mr. President?
